Ed Partyka is an arranger, composer, conductor, and educator specializing in music for large jazz ensemble. Originally from Chicago, he holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the Musikhochschule in Cologne, performing internationally with renowned groups such as the Bob Brookmeyer New Art Orchestra, Vienna Art Orchestra, WDR Big Band, NDR Big Band, and many more. He leads the Ed Partyka Jazz Orchestra, directs multiple European jazz orchestras, appears frequently as a guest conductor, and serves as Professor of Jazz Theory and Composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. His work spans over 60 recordings, including 15 under his own name.
