Award-winning singer-songwriter Penny Jayne Black from the UK first made her mark as a ‘Music Row’ charting artist in 2018/19, earning recognition for her powerful storytelling and Americana roots. Now evolving as a multi-genre artist, she blends country soul, folk honesty, Latin flair, and bluesy-jazz grooves into songs that move hearts across borders. With a voice both timeless and unmistakably her own, she continues to craft music that is as fearless as it is unforgettable.

Her passion for music was nurtured by her father, who played guitar and shared songs with her whenever he was home on leave from the Navy. As a teenager, Penny travelled to California, where she fell in love with the stunning Pacific coastline—especially the majestic Redwood Forest. This transformative journey, filled with the sounds of American country music on the radio, inspired her to begin writing her own songs. Over the following years, she gained recognition in the UK’s country music scene, earning several awards and accolades.

She went on to release two singles with a Nashville record label, both of which charted on the U.S. ‘Music Row’ country charts. In 2023, Penny faced unimaginable loss when her only son, Jack, passed away. She took time away from performing to grieve and heal. During this deeply personal period, she continued to write songs and also turned to writing children’s books, inspired by cherished memories of Jack—an outlet that offered her comfort and a way to honor his memory. Now with renewed determination and a deep spiritual drive, Penny steps boldly back into her musical journey, ready to share her most honest and powerful work yet.
