Joe Dirrt – Dirrt Season Vol. 1

By 44faced on May 14, 2020 in Music - 0 Comments

Joe Dirrt is excited to release his eagerly-awaited sophomore album Dirrt Season Vol. 1 on April 17, 2020. Spearheaded by the blazing singles “The Truth” and “Shootin’ Dice,” the project shows the rawness of his sound that brings back that Boom Bap Hip-Hop. All songs have been produced by renowned hit producer DJ B.Original.

About Joe Dirrt:

Joe Dirrt is a hip hop emcee representing Buffalo, NY, pumping raw heart, emotion, lyricism, and wordplay through the big New York Boom Bap Hip Hop sound, making it his own new entity.

Dirrt Season Vol. 1 is Joe Dirrt’s latest album, released on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Datpiff, and SoundCloud in April 2020. It’s his second album after Before the Fame, which he released in August 2019, and also it comes as a prelude to his third album, Late Night, Early Morning, which has an undefined release date, but Joe Dirrt hints that it’s coming July or August, and also that it will have a completely different sound.

Dirrt Season Vol. 1 is most indicative of Joe Dirrt’s current sound. Joe Dirrt’s real name is Shawn Moore. His mother died from cancer, and his brother died in a car accident. Shawn feels his representation of Buffalo not just as representing a city, but as the memory and legacy of his mother and brother, together with the many hard-working people of Buffalo, with the wish that they invest in realizing their dreams.

From representing Buffalo, Joe Dirrt is set on performing in many different cities and cultures, and to show his son an example of how by taking the time with your craft, putting in the effort and time, then you can become successful with it, and to invest in it not for money or fame, but for love.

Apex Mees – All Night Drugs

By 44faced on May 14, 2020 in Music - 0 Comments

In the words of Apex Mees: “The song is about a girl who thinks that she needs to do drugs to get on my level. Started out as a concept we spoke about that in this generation the obsessions with drugs has become a “cool” factor yet we level up without it. It is a contradiction to itself.”

Apex Mees was born in Iran, grew up in Fairfax V.A. but his home is now LA for the last 6 years. He is a producer and rapper and enjoys making Persian American Hip Hop with his cousin Par$ha. They are always trying to make new sounds and styles while talking about the lifestyle they live.

Emory Forbes – Ohio TA

By 44faced on May 14, 2020 in Music - 0 Comments

After a long musical hiatus, Emory Forbes recently shattered the music industry with the smash hit “Ohio TA.” During this time of a pandemic, Forbes’ music is a great alternative. Forbes is honest, he’s lyrical, and his unique sound will motivate you to keep pushing.

The Baltimore-based rapper starts the track by saying, “I’m a different kind of superman when I get off work. We both get in the booth then we really go to work.” Relating his lifestyle and ability to the everyday individual.

With no hesitation, Forbes critiques his daily lifestyle and work ethic with intense double entendres and metaphors. He uses the skill set he acquired as a battle rapper to help balance flow, wordplay and a Lupe Fiasco like cadence.

For the last two years, Forbes has been traveling the country performing as a battle rapper. Forbes started in Baltimore, Maryland but quickly realized his wordplay and unique cadence would capture audiences all over the world.

Traveling from Washington D.C to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Forbes grew his brand as an artist but continued working on the written craft of rap. “I wanted to return to music, but it was all about timing,” said Forbes.

Since dropping “Ohio TA,” Forbes has received countless calls from other artists congratulating his return, a spot in one of Spotify’s top playlist, and a 50-foot billboard promoting his newest single. “A seed is just a seed until it proceeds to grow,” the Baltimore artist raps on “Ohio TA.”

“Ohio TA” is the track needed to put Emory Forbes back on the main stage. It’s an inspirational track that focuses on work ethic and vision. “Ohio TA” is out now and available on all platforms.

“This song is dedicated to everyone who is suffering from depression. From my own personal experience and witnessing the struggle of people surrounding me with what’s taking place in our world today & how Covid-19 has brought depression upon our people, I wanted to influence the minds of the broken down lost souls that there’s always hope. You must remember who is in control. Redirect your thoughts….heal yourself. I hope that you will listen and that this uplifts the soul!”

GOD BLESS,

RYZHUN (Son of the Risen)

Hakeem Paragon – A Sunflower in the Shade [Album]

By 44faced on May 08, 2020 in Music - 0 Comments

Hakeem Paragon is back after the success of his first album in 2019, No Heaven for Heathens, with a brand new album inspired by the beauty of walking in day-to-day life, A Sunflower in the Shade. As always, there is a key concept behind Hakeem Paragon’s releases, as he sets off on a journey to come out of a low place and uplift both himself and the listener.

In Hakeem’s words, “I represent love and self-love. I was in a very low place and a lot of hip hop tends to ‘shit’ on the listener. For some reason, every time an artist comes to uplift, it is seen as ‘corny.’ I think I’ve found the sound that can still promote positivity in a way that people can stand to ingest it.”

Unlike most artists, the Milwaukee-born artist currently residing in Honolulu, has a love for music and life that has led him to put other artists on by running his own three-day music festival in Honolulu, the LoveForIt fest. With his mission to spread positivity and love, meaning, purpose, and hope hits in every bar of A Sunflower in the Shade. The album, released on March 20, 2020, was influenced by Hakeem’s wife, two daughters, family and friends, and the songs document his life from the time of the release of his 2019 No Heaven for Heathens to its own release.

Several producers make their mark on A Sunflower in the Shade, including Spradley, June Fabores, and BYourself, but Milwaukee’s Regal shaped the album’s overall sound. Hakeem Paragon’s future plans include expanding his exploration of how he can further affect people’s emotions with sound through hip hop.

Alvin – Seven Oaks [EP]

By 44faced on May 08, 2020 in Music - 0 Comments

Alvin evokes depth and delicacy in his newly-released second EP, Seven Oaks, which came to fruition after gaining support from BBC’s “Introducing in Manchester” on his debut EP, Many Happy Returns in 2019.

The EP emerges as the latest unraveling of the Manchester born-and-raised artist’s soul-searching through his blend of alternative R&B and soul. Each of the album’s five songs are stepping stones on a journey increasingly revealing an introspective expansion of the artist’s mind and heart.

Shrouded in secrecy, outside Alvin’s melodic outpourings, he discloses nothing more than bite-sized fragments about his music, which serve more as hints rather than clarifications. About the album, Alvin’s few words of self-description are as concise as they are a question mark in and of itself—“seven tales of poetic paranoia.” Seven tales over five tracks? What is “poetic paranoia”?

Taking these questions into the album, together with the black-and-white motion photography in Alvin’s visuals, and the smooth production by Houston’s Anthony D Luxe and Berlin’s Awndrei, the listener encounters a noir-like motion, darkness blended with beauty, reflecting the confrontation between the mind’s paradoxes and the emotional release that the music provides both artist and listener.

Seven Oaks comes as a major artistic milestone for Alvin, after the music video for his captivating and psychedelic single, “The Rise,” and toward a soon-release of the video for his song, “Sentient,” and a project is also coming this summer.
