Fli Luke – The Apple of Eden

By 44faced on Apr 02, 2019 in Music - 0 Comments

Fli Luke’s (@fliluke) “The Apple of Eden” is a dark, high energy track, with an unusual, twisted beat. Where the author describes a real life debate between good and bad, using different metaphors and rhymes. “The Apple of Eden” is the main metaphor, the whole track is built around it. It represents two paths. The good one and the bad one and the debate is the choice.

Moments in a Dream – It’s Okay

By 44faced on Apr 01, 2019 in Music - 0 Comments

If anyone is suffering from depression or loneliness, Moments in a Dream wrote this song for you. In the words of the artist, “I was hoping it was possible for someone like me with just an acoustic guitar and a 10 years old smartphone to reach other people facing some tough times and maybe not feel scared and depressed.”

This is for everyone whose willing to look beyond the production quality (understanding that it was recorded on the artist’s phone), and feel the heart of the artist, what the artist wants to pass onto you. Nonetheless, the song reveals a great acoustic guitarist and songwriter, using whatever means he has to pass on a message to those in need.

Below are the artist’s notes and lyrics:

A song for SELF-LOVE, DREAMS AND BELIEF.

Time has gone by,
I learnt my lessons right,
A little beat and tired.

I’ve known this for so long,
I sing my heart a song,
And all of it is gone.

It’s okay,
It could’ve been worse,
And I wouldn’t be here,
Then I wouldn’t be here.

I’ve been myself so far,
When I’m not it’s very dark,
Don’t know where to start.

Take it all away,
I’ll live another day,
I’ll find the words to stay.

It’s okay,
It could’ve been worse,
And I wouldn’t be here.
Then I wouldn’t be here.

I’ll find it all again,
I know that I still can,
Though broken,
I’ll stand.

Written and performed by Moments in a Dream.

Majix – Regular

By 44faced on Apr 01, 2019 in Music - 0 Comments

It takes endless amounts of creativity and experimentation before chemistry builds and Majix (@majixonline) (pronounced magic) is created! With the release of their hit single “Regular,” R&B/Hip-Hop duo Majix is breaking boundaries in the male-dominated world of hip-hop. Taylor Nirvana Jones and Mea Wilkerson exude the requisite hustle, independence and in-your-face confidence that comes from grinding in the New York City music scene.
“I’m not your regular…don’t call me Reggie”, lyrics from the chorus, demonstrate that these two young ladies are determined, resolute and represent the lineage of women that have come before them—from Salt N Pepa to TLC. Majix see themself as a female version of Migos meets Rae Sremmurd. They fill a spot in music that has been lacking, and they bring a great deal to the table as triple-threat performers. The single has received rave reviews from New York DJs and social media users. It has reached the acclaimed leaderboard of New York’s Hot 97 “Who’s Next.” “Regular” highlights the girls’ confidence in themselves as well as how they want to empower other women.
“Regular” is an eargasmic fusion of dope trap bars meshed with sensational vocals over a trap beat. The single is produced by MRose from VH1’s reality series “Signed,” which featured The Dream, Rick Ross and record executive Lenny S. MRose brought in her production team of B3B3 (pronounced Bay-Bay) and GeneDaOx to put the icing on the cake and bring this track to the next level. The genius is in its clever songwriting, using a cultural metaphor to set it apart from the rest.
These ladies are no strangers to the business. They have been putting in work for seven years, originally going by the name Love Jones Girlz before ultimately reinventing themselves in 2016 as Majix. Taylor and Mea are also celebrating a milestone, being a part of the cast of the new Netflix series “Brainchild,” executive produced by Pharrell Williams. “It was such an honor to be part of the series,” says Mea. Taylor goes on to say the experience really allowed them to flex their acting muscles and opened the door for new opportunities. Taylor was also part of the MTV’s VMAs commercial, which featured recording artist Lauv. Majix’s unique abilities confirm that they are not “Regular” and their impact won’t be either.
